Native Plant Sale is in Full Swing – Selling out Fast!

MORRISTOWN, NEW JERSEY (April 8, 2024) — Great Swamp Watershed Association (GSWA) announced today that their 4th Annual Native “Plant for Pollinators” program opened online with great success on April 1. GSWA strongly encourages plant enthusiasts who are interested in starting or expanding their native pollinator garden to place their order at GreatSwamp.org before their selections are sold out.

Plants are available as individual species in 5-plug units or as 25-plug garden kits.

“Given the buzz surrounding this native plant sale, we advise you to check out our catalog and place your order quickly!” said Ginger Van Ryzin, GSWA Education and Stewardship Associate.  “Our new online platform offers seamless navigation through our plant catalog and an easy checkout process,”

The plant sale is open now through April 19, 5:00 PM. Plant pickup takes place the weekend of May 4th at one of 15 local locations.

GSWA also encourages the public to “plant it forward” with a dedicated donation to purchase plants which will be installed by GSWA staff at school rain gardens in Paterson, Newark, and other schools in the Passaic Watershed.

New this year is a follow-up to the plant sale talk, Plant Program Panel / Q&A. This free, interactive Zoom webinar takes place April 11, 7:00-8:30 PM. Three local, experienced native plant enthusiasts will answer questions and share advice about choosing, planting, growing, and sustaining native plants.

Register for all GSWA programs and events at GreatSwamp.org.

The Native “Plant for Pollinators” Program is hosted by Great Swamp Watershed Association and 25 municipal and non-profit Native Plant Program Community Partners. GSWA expresses their deep appreciation to these partners who help promote the program to their communities, provide volunteers, and host pickup sites for their local towns.
