Great Swamp Watershed Association (GSWA) is pleased to announce that the organization’s fourth annual Home & Garden Tour on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 will feature the Glynallyn Castle.
A former Mansion in May location, the Glynallyn Castle has been carefully restored by its current owners. Constructed 100 years ago, the 32,000 square foot mansion features intricate woodworking, stained glass, and many hidden doors – including one which leads to a dungeon. Nestled among the other fabulous homes on the stretch of road known as “Millionaire’s Row” in Morristown, Glynallyn was the dream of New York Businessman George Marshall Allen and was built as a replica of the Compton Wynates Manor, and English castle built in the early 1500’s.
The tour will begin at 10:00 a.m. on June 21 with check-in at 21 Normandy Parkway, Morristown. Guests must visit this location first to receive their admission wristbands, program booklets, and tour routes. Tour homes will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Check-in is mandatory and will close at noon. Participants may visit as many sites as they wish and in any order they wish; however, wristbands will be required for access to all locations.
Visit GSWA online at GreatSwamp.org or call (973) 538-3500 to secure tour admission in advance for the reduced rate of $50/person. Advance registration will remain open until 5:00 p.m. on June 20. Obtain admission at the door on the day of the event for the full rate of $60/person.
All proceeds from the fourth annual Home & Garden Tour will benefit the many environmental stewardship, education, and advocacy programs Great Swamp Watershed Association offers to schools and communities throughout the Great Swamp Passaic River watershed, and beyond.
